Bonnie Mae Alfaro- 10/29/1930 – 08/11/2017

Bonnie Mae (Robbins) Alfaro (86) of Arlington, TX, passed away peacefully at home on Friday morning August 11th, surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday September 9th, 2017 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd., Kennedale, TX 76060.
Bonnie Mae Robbins was born on Wednesday October 29th, 1930 in Green Forest, Arkansas to Alta Opal Robbins.  Raised by her mother, she grew up living on a farm & incorporated several of the small town attributes that made her who she was.  Bonnie moved to the big city of Dallas, alone at the age of 17, to start her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.  She went on to work at GTE Telephone Company, & then Royal Business Forms, where she eventually retired in 2000.  She met her husband, Raymond H. Alfaro in Irving, TX, in 1949.  They had an instant connection & were married on January 1st, 1950.  Raymond & Bonnie had 1 child, a daughter- Karen Sue Alfaro in October of 1950.
Bonnie spent many years as a faithful servant to God & attended Western Heights Missionary Baptist Church which later became First Baptist Church of Las Colinas.  Bonnie & Raymond formed several friendships over the years & remained friends with several members & their families.
Going out to eat & having a cup of coffee was one of her all-time favorite activities. She loved to tease with her daughter Karen, although sometimes Karen did not get it, the laugh was always the last word. Singing along to her favorite songs in the car, talking on the phone with loved ones and friends, or sitting outside with her beloved dogs while watching the birds and squirrels play was, without a doubt, the highlights of her days! She loved to stay on top of all things sports related, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners (as Karen would call her "A Traitor" for turning into a Sooners fan like her grandson).

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband-Raymond Alfaro, her mother Alta Opal Douglas, & her granddaughter Kristy Lynn Chatham.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Worthington and husband Pete of Arlington, TX, grandson Jason Ray Chatham and wife Lee Ann of Arlington, TX, granddaughter Melanie Robles and husband Noe of Fort Worth, TX, great grandson Tristan Williams of Covington, TX, & 2 great granddaughters Kaylah Mays & Kyndall Robles of Fort Worth, TX. Blessed enough to have a second family to love, she also had step grandchildren and great grandchildren as well. Grandson Gary Worthington and wife Deborah of Mansfield, TX, grandson Tony Worthington and wife Becky & granddaughter Pam Berry and husband Mark, all of Arlington, TX, & granddaughter Sandy Gomez and husband Eddie of McKinney, TX. Great grandsons including- Robert, Tyler, Dustin, Cody, Evan, Weston and great granddaughters Alexa, Emily, Ashlyn, Meagan, Morgan, Macy, and Katie. Also several close loved ones & friends.

Her legacy will live on in all that knew & loved her! She will always be remembered for her beautiful bright smile, a heart bigger than Texas, and kindness beyond belief!! She never met a stranger…and never left without making a friend!!!
