Ruby Faye (Phillips) Walker

July 2, 1927 ~ December 21, 2018 (age 91)

Ruby Walker passed from this life on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the age of 91. She had lived a long and productive life these many years and will be missed by all who knew her, but they are rejoicing that she is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and is united with her beloved husband Grady and others who have gone on before her.

Ruby was born in Jacksonville, Texas to the parentage of E.C. and Lily Phillips on July 2, 1927. She married her beloved husband and soul mate, Grady A. Walker, on December 23, 1947 and they remained married until his untimely home going in 1975. She enjoyed many hobbies, sewing, crocheting, quilting, etc. most of all she loved taking care of everyone’s babies. She was a faithful member of every church that she was a part of. There was never a church dinner where she did not do the largest part of the cooking of her many specialties. During the year she would help prepare blankets and jackets to send to the Indian Reservations around the southwestern parts of the United States. She also made stockings and dolls at Christmas time to send to the various children’s ministries that were supported by the church she attended.

In 1960 she and her husband moved their family to Kennedale so that the children would have a safer environment in which to attend school. All three of the children graduated from Kennedale schools. She and Grady instilled into their children the importance of serving the Lord and living a saved life for Christ. Each one had their own dreams in life but God had different plans for all of them. Today they are all working in the ministry in various areas of the church.

She was proceeded in death by her beloved husband along with her parents and eight siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Duane Walker and wife Karen of Leesburg, Texas, two daughters Linda Stone husband James of Arlington, Texas, Rexine Haffner and husband Don of Rusk, Texas.
