Maida June Dillard

May 15, 1928 ~ February 18, 2017 (age 88)
Maida June Walker Glass Dillard, 88, of Georgetown, Texas died peacefully in her sleep at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 18, 2017. In her last years, Maida was afflicted with dementia and drifted away from us far before we were ready to let go of her. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She lived most of her life in the Fort Worth until 2009 and moved to Georgetown to live with her daughter Janet.

Maida worked many jobs in her youth to support her family due to her father’s health issues. She worked at one time for Martha Washington Candies (the most popular candy maker of the time) with her favorite Aunt Goldi and they had a lot of fun times there together. She went to work as a waitress at the Texas Hotel in downtown Fort Worth and it was the finest hotel of its kind at the time. In 1955 she went to work for American Airlines food service Sky Chef’s at Amon Carter Airport and then to the American Airlines Flight Academy in all she gave a total 35 years of service to the company. Always a hard worker in everything she did.

Maida was a member of VFW #8911 and an Order of the Eastern Star life member.

She is survived by her only daughter Janet Elliott, stepson Billy Don Glass and wife Nikki, step daughter Jean Maia, grandchildren Aimee Burke, Anthony Elliott, Kerri Everett, Dusty Glass, Brad Maia, eight great grandchildren, and beloved best friend Doris (Avon) Pait.
