Alexis J. Lusk, affectionately known to many as "Lecky," passed away unexpectedly on Good Friday, April 3, 2026, at her family home in Fort Worth, Texas—the city where her remarkable journey began on July 7, 1950. Her departure leaves a profound silence in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, yet the echoes of her laughter, kindness, and the cherished memories she crafted remain ever vibrant.
Born Alexis J. Randle, she was nurtured in the nurturing embrace of Fort Worth, where she flourished and graduated from I. M. Terrell High School. From an early age, Alexis embraced faith and community, accepting Christ at a young age and becoming a devoted member of the Greater Saint James Baptist Church. Under the compassionate leadership of Rev. C. A. Holiday and later Pastor Bobby Webber, she found both solace and strength. Alexis graced the New Life Gospel Choir with her strong alto voice, directed by André Washington, and later enriched the ministries at First Saint John Baptist and many others, continuously lifting spirits and spreading joy.
Her career journey was marked by dedication and perseverance. Alexis devoted many years to Texas Instruments, where her talents were recognized and cherished, before advancing to a fulfilling tenure at Tandy Corporation. As the chapters of her professional life unfolded, her heart guided her to serve those in need within the MHMR Tarrant County housing system, providing compassionate care that reflected her generous spirit.
Inside her home, Alexis curated a sanctuary of neatness, cleanliness, and warmth—a reflection of her orderly soul and loving nature. Holidays were a treasured time, where her culinary artistry shone brightest. Friends and family fondly remember gatherings around her table, graced by her legendary Cornbread Dressing, delectable 7up Pound Cake, and incomparable Texas Sheet Cake—recipes that were as beloved as the cook herself. Her kitchen was not just a place for food but a space where love was woven into every dish and every shared smile.
Alexis was a woman of boundless kindness, always ready to lighten the load of those around her. Known for her quick wit and infectious laughter, she delighted in heartfelt conversations, exhilarating shopping excursions, and in the simple pleasure of having fun. She embodied the essence of warmth, generosity, and a spirit that sought to uplift.
Her loving family remains a testament to her life well lived: her husband, Ronald Charles Lusk; her children, Terrie Snell (Doyle), Bernard Young Jr. and Sheri Anthony; her brothers Frederick and Keith Randle; her sisters Adrius Lawson and Alfretta Lenear (Anthony); and cherished grandchildren Parshae Anthony and Taylor Harris, along with her beloved great-grandsons Jace Jacobs and Jeremy Atkinson. These are the survivors who carry forward Alexis’s legacy of love, resilience, and faith.
Alexis was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Bessie Randle, and siblings Charles, Jacqueline Daniels, and Anthony Randle, to whom she remains forever connected in spirit.
A visitation to honor Alexis's life will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale, TX, on April 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., followed immediately by the funeral service concluding at noon. This commemorative gathering will offer all who loved Lecky the sacred opportunity to celebrate her luminous presence and bid a heartfelt farewell.
Repast will immediately follow the funeral services and will be held at LC Sports and Recreation (Lake Church) located at 2912-A Little Rd, Arlington, TX 76016
Rest
I've closed my eyes and gained such peace.
My pain and discomfort have found relief.
I've closed my eyes and entered sweet rest.
A rest reserved for those who inherit God's best.
We all know it as death, but it's only a door.
And by entering it my worries are no more.
Now life for you must continue you see.
There's more for you to do, to become, and to be.
Grab hold to God's heart on this side of life and never let go.
Let your light shine as He leads and you just follow.
God's faithfulness towards me was fulfilled the morning I left.
And though your heart may feel heavy and tears well and fall, take joy and strength in knowing that I truly loved you all.
And I took with me the heartfelt knowledge that you loved me until the end.
Now lean into God and truly live life well so that you can rest in knowing I'll see you all again.
~ Lecky
