KENNEDALE -- Alfred Odell Womack, a devoted husband and loving father, brother and friend, was unexpectedly taken away from us on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007.
Service: 2 p.m. Monday at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitition: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel.
Alfred was born Oct. 25 1961, in Fort Worth with a smile on his face, a song in his heart and whistling. Anyone who had met him would have certainly gotten that impression. He was a devoted family man who loved to fish, play dominoes and spend time with his family, but it was his Christian walk that made him committed to both his church family as well as his own. Alfred loved to tell everyone all that God had done for him. He was a member of Countryside Baptist Church and he loved to sing there every chance he got.
Alfred was a man of convictions. He would often spend his free time at the church working on the old broken-down bus. He would also go out into the community, knocking on doors and trying to get children for the bus route (most of the time he would spend all day Saturdays doing this task alone). He spent his last few hours at the church, visiting others and sharing the Gospel.
Alfred loved to help others. It was not uncommon for Alfred to drop everything to go work on someone else's car. He loved to work on cars.
Anyone who knew Alfred would tell you Alfred always worked at his own pace, so we were all a bit surprised at how quickly he left this ol' world. Those of us left behind are left to wonder if God had an old broken-down bus or maybe an old car he needed fixing.
Alfred was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Womack; and father, David Womack.
Survivors: His wife, Denica Womack; daughters, Becky and husband, Sergio Ornelas and Cassie Womack; brothers, James "Butch" Leslie and wife, Debbie, John "Chuck" Leslie and wife, Nancy, Charles "Skipper" Womack, David Womack and wife, Sheila, Bobby Womack and wife, Kay, Jimmy Womack and wife, Kay; sisters, Jane Satterly, Joan Dickerson and Betty Hamilton and husband, Charles. Alfred also had numerous nephews, nieces and countless friends to mourn his loss.
