Betty Lou Morris, 88, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, in Mansfield, TX. She was born on December 15, 1934, in Haskell County, TX to Harvey and Annie (West) Brown.

Betty grew up in and around Munday, TX. She graduated from Poly High School in Fort Worth, TX. After high school she began work for Southwestern Bell as a service representative where she worked for 4 years. After moving to Massachusetts, she worked as a sewing machine operator and secretary during her husband’s military service. She was involved in multiple churches, most recently Tate Springs Baptist in Arlington, TX. She volunteered at the Bisbee food ministry in Mansfield, TX and the Arlington Life Shelter in Arlington, TX.

Betty married Jim in 1957 in Fort Worth, Texas. They were happily married for 66 years.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Iris Stevenson; brother, J.C. Brown; and son, Matthew Morris.

Betty is survived by her husband, Jim; her daughter, Lee (Clay) Hendrix; her son, James Morris; daughter in law Pat Morris and grandchildren Sarah Hendrix, Kendall Hendrix, Laura (Morris) Wardrop, Alex Morris, Jessica Morris, Michael Morris, Aaron Jostmeyer and Nick Jostmeyer.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Tate Springs Baptist Church building fund or the Arlington Life Shelter.
