Betty Stoldt

February 2, 1928 — April 8, 2020

Burleson

Betty Ann Stoldt, 92, passed away on April 8, 2020 at her home, in Burleson, Texas. She was born on February 2, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan to Bernard Bruno Schumann and Bithia Levetta Baumwart Schumann.

Betty grew up in Saginaw, Michigan during a difficult time in our country’s history. Because of that she had to leave school early to help support the family. She was a homemaker most of her adult life in support of her self employed husband. She did work for five years for General Dynamics and AGH Corp. Her hobbies included Bowling (that she quit at age 90) and had numerous achievement awards. She also loved BBQ’s which included family gatherings. Betty also found great joy in going to Winstar. It can be said that anyone who ever met Betty was immediately introduced to her dynamic personality and incredible sense of humor.  Even in the midst of personal challenges and loss, she clung to her Faith.

Betty married Ervin Rutherford July 26, 1947 at Latter Day Saint Church in Saginaw. Ervin passed away, June 17, 1984. Betty then married Orville Stoldt at St Timothy’s in Fort Worth February 9, 1985. He passed away on October 29, 2007.

Betty was the Senior member of St. Timothy Church in Fort Worth, where she was very active in every aspect of Parish Life.  She had even attended Mass and Received Holy Communion on the last Sunday before Pandemic restrictions were mandated.  She was named “Woman of Year” at St. Timothy’s in 2014, an honor that was celebrated by the entire parish.  To acknowledge her strong Faith in Jesus Christ and her commitment to her parish church, a Memorial Fund has been established in her name.

Betty was preceded in death by husbands Ervin and Orville, and sons, Butch and Joe Rutherford.

Betty is survived by her sons, Danny Rutherford and wife Lesta, Rick Rutherford and wife Judy; daughters, Sandra Lea Parker and husband Leroy, Judith Moss,  and Carol Harrison and husband Paul, daughter-in-law Linda Rutherford; 10 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and many church family and friends.
