Beverley Faye (Dove) Cook, 92, passed away on 28 April 2025 at Highlands Village in Mansfield, TX. She was born on September 9, 1932, in Amarillo, TX to (John) Leo and (Elizabeth) Faye (Harris) Dove.
Beverley grew up in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1950. After high school she took a job as a secretary for a trucking company. After a brief time, Beverley met then married Loyd Cook in 1952 in Amarillo. They were happily married for 67 years. After their first year as a couple, they moved to Lubbock, TX where they started their family. As the family grew to include four daughters and two sons, Beverley and Loyd remained actively involved at Southcrest Baptist Church. Over the years when work took the family to three other locations, church involvement remained a high priority.
Beverley was adept at making a home and keeping their six children prepared for all school and church events and activities. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and actively participating in Women’s Aglow. She enjoyed sewing and definitely reading!! The Bible was always her favorite book to read. You can tell by her well-used amplified Bible! Beverley dearly loved the Lord and her family. She was instrumental in helping the children have close relationships with God. Each of the children has a story to tell about that.
Beverley was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Faye Dove, and by her husband, Loyd Cook.
She is survived by her daughter Judy (Steve) Andrew of Amarillo, TX; son Philip (Chris) Cook of Sun City, AZ; daughter Barbara (Tim) Hern of Lincoln, MO; son Dale (Misty) Cook of Allen, TX; daughter Anne (Carl) Baldwin of Mansfield, TX; daughter Leah (Danny) Parish of Winnsboro, TX; sister Mary Howard of Fort Worth, TX; twenty grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family wishes to extend gratitude to Texas Life Hospice. The whole team was very attentive to Beverley and cared for her with great compassion.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Texas Life Hospice 1292 FM 157 Suite 110, Mansfield, TX 76063.
