Billy Joe (Bill) Bain, 83 years old, of Fort Worth, TX went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 14, 2016.
The funeral will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 10:00 am. at Pleasantivew Baptist Church, 4400 Pleasantview Dr., Arlington, TX 76017. Pastor Jimmy McNeil will officiate.
Interment is at Emerald Hills Cemetery. The family will greet visitors on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, TX. 76060.
Billy Joe was born October 18, 1932 in Peerless, Texas to Gideon Wesley Bain and Mary Elizabeth Campbell Bain. He was a devoted and loving husband, married to Tina Bain for 43 years. He was stationed in Korea as a member of the US Army, and completed his military service in 1955. He began his career at General Motors where he retired in 1994. He was a faithful member of Pleasantview Baptist Church of Arlington, TX., where he was active as Assistant Treasurer and Head Usher. He spent his retirement perfecting his craft of cabinet making, remodeling, gardening, and nuturing his relationships with his family and friends. Bill was a follower of Christ, a committed family man, a patient teacher, a diligent provider and loving father who committed his life to serving the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, one brother and his son, Jody (Joe) Garza.
He is survived by his wife, Hortensia (Tina) Bain; children: Debbie Jones and husband, Terry of Fort Worth, TX., Darlene England and husband, Jerry of Alvarado, TX., Joe Wayne Bain of Fort Worth, TX., Lisa Russell and husband, Troy of Alvarado, TX., Alex Garza of Odessa, TX., Sammy Garza of TN., David Garza of TN.; grandchildren: Joshua, Jerad, Alex, Brittney, Amanda, Kerra, Zachery, Joseph, Jillian, Dionne, Courtney, Connie, Bayleigh, Arron, Makayla, Nicole, Dylan, Paige, Destiny, Sarah, and Joseph; great-grandchildren: Trinity, Jordan, Jil, Jet, Shawn, Xavier, Justice, Alexis, Christian,
Destini, Joseph, Abby, Mia Jo, Luke, Gabriel, Camile, Daijah, Braedon, Trevor, Kelcie, Wyatt, Neveah, Kennedy, and Brandon; great-great-grandchild: Serenity; brother, G.W. Bain and wife, Betty of Alvarado, TX., sister-in-law, Patty Fuentez and husband, Ray of Austin, TX., and many friends and beloved church family.
Pallbearers: Alex Garza, Sammy Garza, Alex Garza, Jr., Joe Dylan Garza, Arron Russell, Jerad Jones, Lynn Dodson, and Vernon Fair.
