Bobby Wayne Johnson, aged 68, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at his home in Arlington, Texas. Born on April 7, 1957, in Fort Worth, Texas, Bobby was the cherished son of Chester and Nelda (Lester) Johnson.
Bobby’s early years were spent in Fort Worth, where he attended O.D. Wyatt High School. Though he did not graduate from there, he pursued further education in specialized fields that shaped his career. In 1982, he completed the Goodyear Mechanic Training Courses in Mexia, Texas, earning a General Automotive Mechanic certificate. Continuing his professional journey, Bobby undertook Commercial Driver’s License training and embarked on a fulfilling career as a truck driver beginning in 1990. His dedication to safety and excellent customer service earned him numerous awards throughout his tenure. Bobby’s career spanned significant roles with MBM Food Service, Jack In the Box, and JB Hunt Delivery. After three decades, he retired in 2020.
In 1976, Bobby married Angela in Fort Worth, Texas, a union that blossomed into nearly 50 years of companionship and love, approaching their golden anniversary this coming December. The couple made Arlington their home, where they built a life surrounded by family, faith, and friendship.
A devout member and deacon of Olive Place Baptist Church for 32 years, Bobby lived his faith daily and found comfort in scripture, particularly Galatians 2:20, which reflects the depth of his spiritual journey: "I am crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." His faith community, including Pastor Eddie Worthy, remained a steadfast source of support.
Bobby’s passions included tending to his yard, repairing items around his home, cherishing time with his beloved dogs, attending Texas Rangers baseball games, traveling to Arizona, and most importantly, spending quality moments with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Nelda Johnson, as well as his brother, Paul Johnson Sr.
Bobby leaves behind his devoted wife Angela of Arlington, Texas; his daughters Gina (Scott) Hunter of Arlington and Laura (Brian) Brite of North Richland Hills; and his grandchildren Reese Hunter, Brynn Hunter, Livia Brite, and Emma Brite, who will carry forward his legacy. He is also survived by his siblings, Pamela Riley, Allen (Pat) Johnson, Phillip Johnson, Terry (Don) Hill, Donald (Karen) Johnson, Gwendolyn Hignight, Thomas Johnson, and David Johnson, all residing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives, including Gene and Donna Stutts.
The Johnson family extends profound gratitude to Olive Place Baptist Church, AlevCare Hospice, Emerald Hills Funeral Home, and all the wonderful family, friends, and neighbors who have provided love and support during this difficult time.
Bobby Wayne Johnson leaves behind a life marked by devotion to family, faith, and service, and he will be remembered with great respect and affection by all who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire those who loved him dearly.
