Brenda Kay Burlison, 63, passed away on the 12th of May 2025 at her home in Watauga, Texas. She was born on June 16th, 1961 in Big Spring, Texas to Lloyd and Billie (Newton) Barron.
Brenda grew up in Arlington, Texas. She graduated from Bowie High School in Arlington, TX in 1979. After high school she: attended Tarrant County Junior College and then Fort Worth Business School. She worked for different mortgage companies for a number of years. She then worked for Fort Worth Independent School District as a Data Clerk and then as a Senior User Support Technician. She retired in 2017 after 27 years. She was involved in Everman chapter #624 of the Eastern Star and was Worthy Matron in 1985-1986. She was also a member of Oak Hill Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth, TX and Glen Haven Presbyterian Church in Watauga, TX.
Brenda married Edgar Lee Burlison on November 14, 1987, in Fort Worth, Texas, and they were happily married for 37 years. She loved traveling and especially enjoyed going on cruises. Brenda found joy in attending live theatre performances and cherished her regular bunco nights with friends. She took pride in finding quilt designs and seeing if Edgar could convert them into baby
quilts to donate to Newborns in Need. Above all, Brenda treasured time spent with her family, and nothing brought her more happiness than being with her beloved granddaughters.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd & Billie Barron; sister Cythnia Ann Harris; and brothers-in-law Billy Wayne Harris and Jim Walker.
Brenda is survived and missed by her loving husband Edgar Burlison of Watauga; her two sons and two daughters-in-law, Shawn Andrew Burlison (Emily) of Nijmegen, the Netherlands, and Clayton Lee Burlison (Kaitlyn) of Wylie; her 2 sisters and 1 brother-in-law, Dortha Faye Walker of Arlington, Janet Elaine Winkler (Fred) of Eastland; her 2 granddaughters, Cecilia Elaine Burlison and Simone Avery Burlison. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Newborns in Need, 1740 South Glenstone Suite S, Springfield, MO 65804.
