Carol Ann
Rawe
July 3, 1959 – May 5, 2026
Holy Cross Lutheran Church
11:00 am - 12:00 pm (Central time)
Carol Rawe, age 79, passed away peacefully on the morning of May 14, 2026. She was born on August 8, 1946, in Kingsville, Texas to her loving parents Lloyd and Ann Ryan. Carol attended Sam Houston High School in Arlington, Texas, before beginning her career.
Carol loved to love people. She also had a deep and abiding faith in her Lord Jesus Christ, and she loved her church and church family at Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She shared her love of food with her children. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed trips with family to Hawaii and Germany. She loved buying flowers for her home and giving them to her husband to plant. The friendships she developed led her to many activities, including her 30-year association with the Texas Bootscooters Line dance team, finding enjoyment hunting for and selling antiques, and running and walking in the Dallas White Rock Marathon in 2001, just to name a few. Her faith was exhibited in her service to her congregation at Holy Cross, where she was a charter member. This relationship led to participating in mission trips to Belize, leading the Sunday Morning donut and coffee ministry, and organizing the semi-annual Shred Day event.
She started her career as a secretary at LTV. Her husband Don was attending college, and she served as the family breadwinner for a few years. She left LTV to begin raising her family. After her children attained school age, she went back to work and served congregations at Advent Lutheran Church and Holy Cross as an office manager. Her final career and the career she loved most was being Nana to her beloved grandson Nathan.
Carol is survived by her husband Donald, her son Terry, his wife Courtney, and their son Nathan, as well as her son Jeff. She is also survived by her sister Barbara and her husband Gary and their family and Don’s sister Linda.
All of those she loved and touched deeply. Please join us in celebrating her life Saturday morning May23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4400 W. Arkansas Lane, Arlington, Texas.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holy Cross Building Fund.
