Catherine Cody

Catherine Anne (Mirando) Cody, 74, a gentle woman with a brave spirit, passed away peacefully
on January 29, 2022 at home in Arlington TX. Cathy was born in Yonkers, NY
on November 14, 1947. She lived her final months the way she lived her life, with thoughtfulness,
caring, and loving devotion to her husband Richard, sons Christopher Joseph and Stephen Joshua,
grandson Timothy Caleb, faithful schnauzer/poodle Oscar Lee and many rescue cats.
Cathy will be missed, loved, and cherished by all her family, friends, and everyone who knew what a
kind and gentle soul she was.
She grew up in Roslyn Heights, NY and graduated from Herricks High School in New Hyde Park, NY
in 1965. After high school, She studied Education at St John’s University, was an International Travel
Associate at Best Western Hotels and Resorts and had a passion for retail and customer service,
always treating everyone with kindness and respect.
Catherine and Richard married in Syosset, NY in 1967 and have been life partners ever since.
Devout in her Christian faith, Cathy rejoiced in her Catholic Church community and ministering to the
sick and needy. She provided a loving home for her family and for those many pets she personally
rescued.
Catherine was preceded in death by her sister, Susan McGee, her father, Joseph Mirando and her
mother, Annette D’Anna.
Cathy is survived by her spouse Richard, her sons Christopher and Stephen and her grandson
Timothy; her sisters Maryann Connors, Carol Mirando and Margie Birch; her nephews Michael Reff
and Robert McGee, Jr., her grand nieces Danielle Reff, Carley Reff and Nicolette Reff and other
relatives.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Defender of the Holy Word to her final breath,
Cathy rested peacefully and as a smile appeared on her face,
Lord Jesus carried her away to her heavenly resting place.
