Catherine Frances Vallas, 87, passed away on 19, November, 2025 at Vitas hospice healthcare in FortWorth, Texas. Catherine was born on November, 01, 1938 in Bronx, New York to John and Catherine Keyhoe Petersen. Catherine grew up in Bronx, New York, she moved out to Long Island in Suffolk County as a young teenager. she graduated from Freeport High School in Freeport, New York in 1988 with a G.E.D. alongside her son Andrew Vallas during his senior year of High School. Catherine married Bernard Peter Vallas in 1961 in Acapulco, Mexico. They were happily married for 27 years. Catherine was a member of First Baptist Church in Merrick N.Y. , she was a stay at home Mom who was devoted to her raising her children. she loved supporting Christian charities as well as Cancer Care, she enjoyed the outdoors and loved boating fishing and trap and skeet shooting with the family, playing mahjong, bowling, and gardening. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents John and Catherine, her Husband Bernard Vallas, Versal (Milo) Lenard, her sisters Laura Herbst, Jeanette Berdon, DeeDee Lentz, Helen Porupski, and her Son Kevin Vallas. Great-grandchildren Grace, Asher and Blake Vallas great-grandchild Sullivan Thomas Houston. Catherine is survived by her son Andrew and “Martha” Vallas of Springtown, Texas; her grandson Joseph “Carla” Vallas of Arlington Texas, great-grandchildren Aaydin and Makayla, her grandson Micheal “Joanna” Vallas of Cape Coral Florida. great-grandchildren Harper, Kendal, and Dawson; Her granddaughter Jacqueline “Ed” Montgomery great-grandchildren Edwin, Hunter, Peighton, and Grayson; her granddaughter Victoria “Darren” Houston of Arlington Texas great-grandchildren Theodore, Finneas, and Elliot. “Suzanne” Vallas East Northport N.Y. grandchildren Lucas “Alexandra” Vallas, Logan Vallas Mikaela Vallas, Mackenzie Vallas. . A Celebration of Life service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, TX 76060 at 12/06/25 at 2PM. An Inurnment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery Long Island New York at a later date.
