Charles Jackson

Charles Eugene Jackson, 93, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Mansfield Methodist Hospital in Mansfield, Texas. He was born on January 24, 1928 in Borden, Indiana to Ermin Levi Jackson and Edna Myrtle (Balentine) Jackson.

Charles graduated from Borden High School and went on to graduate from Indiana Technical College in Fort Wayne, Indiana with a degree in Electrical Engineering.  He joined the United States Army in 1949 and served as an electrical draftsman during the Korean War.  He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 9299 of Alvarado, Texas.  Charles was a proud veteran and patriot who flew our great flag every day.

Charles moved to Texas and began to work for Chance Vought on March 20, 1956.  After working at the Vought Corporation as an aeronautical electrical engineer for 35 years he then retired in 1991.  At a young age he always had a love for aviation and flying.  He got his pilot’s license and went on to build and fly antique aircrafts during his long and illustrious lifetime.

Charles married Kathleen Conrad on May 10, 1952.  They were happily married for 52 years. Charles was a loving husband and dad to three children.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Ermin Levi Jackson and Edna Myrtle Jackson; and sister, Nola Kathern Brucker.

Those left to cherish Charles memories are daughters, Kadena Potts and Kathy Wilson; son, Charles Jackson; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Graveside service for Charles will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 10:00AM at Emerald Hills Memorial Park in Kennedale, Texas.
