Charles “Charlie” Edward Luna was born on June 29, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas, to Manuel Luna and Joan J. Adami. He was raised in San Antonio, where he graduated from Highlands High School and welcomed his first daughter at the age of eighteen.
In his early twenties, Charlie moved to Dallas, beginning a long and dedicated career in construction. He worked as a laborer for Rogers-O’Brien Construction, where he met his good friend Preston, who offered him the opportunity that helped launch his professional path. After marrying and having two children, Charlie moved his young family to Maryland following a successful interview for a superintendent position with Rogers-O’Brien—an achievement he was deeply proud of.
Charlie continued to excel in his field, eventually becoming a project manager with Bovis Lend Lease and later Davaco Construction, where he concluded a long and respected career before retiring in 2020.
In 1985, Charlie was introduced to the love of his life, Cheryl Denise Treadway, by her sister and his good friend, Brenda Rhue. Charlie and Cheryl married in 1988 and shared 40 wonderful years of partnership, love, and devotion. Over the years, they welcomed three more children, completing a large and close-knit family that remained his greatest joy.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife Cheryl; his children Stephanie Harris, Gabriel Luna, Alyssia Luna, Adam Luna, and Rachel Luna; and his cherished grandchildren, Madison and Peyton Harris.
Charlie will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his loyalty to family and friends, and the kindness and steadiness that defined his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength.
