Claudia Jill Conditt

May 10, 1946 — January 21, 2024

Kennedale

Claudia “Jill” Conditt, 77, of Kennedale, Texas, went to be with the Lord, after a brief illness that took her away unexpectedly; on January 21, 2024. Jill was a very caring, sweet, and lovable person. Her gentle kind-hearted spirit will be sorely missed by everyone that knew and loved her.

Jill was born on May 10, 1946, in Dallas, Texas to James Webb and Shirley Jane Higgins. She was the oldest of three siblings. She graduated from Grand Prairie High School in Grand Prairie, Texas. Jill’s very first job was working at Six Flags over Texas in Arlington. This is where she met her future husband, John W. Conditt. They married in the late 1960’s and were blessed with three children. Jill and John parted ways and divorced in 1977. Eventually, Jill remarried in 1980 to Don Lewis. They were married for 18 years before Don became ill and passed away in 1998.

After receiving her Associate of Arts degree, she worked at several different places as an administrative assistant before landing permanently at Pier 1 Imports. She retired from Pier 1 in 2011 after 20 years of service.

Later in life, after Jill retired, John Conditt and Jill Lewis became re-acquainted after he received a very devasting cancer diagnosis in 2011. They remarried 33 years after their separation and spent his final years together. He passed away in 2015, leaving Jill widowed for a second time.

Jill was a loving wife, mother, nana, great nana, sister, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with family and being a nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an absolutely avid Elvis fan and enjoyed all country and pop music. Jill loved life as a whole, but especially loved her beloved Chihuahua, Daisy, who brought her so much joy. She attended First United Methodist Church in Kennedale, Texas for many, many years. She was a devoted Christian who truly believed in God’s plan for her life and always held that faith. She met many lifelong friends at church and missed them terribly when she couldn’t attend anymore due to her health.

Jill leaves behind her sister, Jenifer (Jack) Covington of Kearney, MO; brother, Jimmy (“Buzzy”) Higgins of Fort Worth, Tx; daughter, Shannon (Jason) Abair of Arlington, Tx; son, Jason (Valeria) Conditt of Grand Prairie, Tx; Son, Chad (Kelly) Conditt of Riesel, Tx. She also leaves behind 5 beautiful granddaughters, Breanna, Ashley, Rebekah, Diana, and Esteysi; 2 handsome grandsons, Juan and David; 3 great grandchildren, Shaylee, Kallum, And Gryffin; and many nieces and nephews.

Jill is preceded in death by her parents, James and Shirley Higgins, Her husbands John Conditt and Don Lewis, and great granddaughter, Olivia Garcia.
