Obituary

Corey Edwin Lewis, 46, passed away on July 30, 2026, at 3:45 a.m. at his home in Richland Hills, Texas. He was born on April 20, 1980, at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, to Claude and Teresa Lewis.

Corey grew up in Pleasant Grove, Texas, and graduated from Balch Springs Christian Academy in Balch Springs, Texas, in 1999.

Following high school, Corey joined the United States Army on May 27, 1999, where he proudly served for 7 years and 11 months. During his military service, he served overseas and received the Sharpshooter-Marksmanship Qualification Badge with Grenade Bar and the Marksman Qualification/Marksmanship with Rifle Bar. He was honorably discharged on April 11, 2007, having achieved the rank of PV2.

Corey had many work endeavors throughout his life, including seventeen years with Premium Waters, INC. and four and a half years with the United States Post Office. He was also involved in Cultivation Church in Arlington, Texas, where he was a member for three years.

Corey married Patricia Rubeck Lewis in 2004. They were happily married for 22 years.

He enjoyed working on cars, riding motorcycles with his brothers, and spending time with his family.

Corey was preceded in death by his son, Mason Ray Rubeck; his Granny, Mary Lewis; his father, Claude Lewis; his mother, Teresa Lewis; his father-in-law, Donald Ray Rubeck Jr.; his brother-in-law, Thomas James Flores; and his buddies, Jacque and Amos.

Corey is survived by his spouse, Patricia Lewis; his son, Ricky Rubeck; his daughters, Courtney Lewis, Carrington Lewis, and Cennedy Lewis; his brothers, Cobey (Gina) Lewis, Eric (Melissa) Lewis, and Bill (Velva) Digby; his sister, Kari (Marisa) Doporto; his brothers- and sisters-in-law, Fred (April) Rubeck, Andy (Candice) Rubeck, Tony Rubeck, and Heather (Bryan) Partian; more than 50 nieces and nephews, 10 great-nieces and great-nephews, many more relatives, and countless friends.

A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd., Kennedale, TX 76060, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026.

A memorial service will be held at Cultivation Church, 5100 US Hwy 287 N Frontage Rd., Arlington, TX 76017, from 10:00–11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. A graveside service will immediately follow at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211, from 1:00–2:00 p.m.
