Curtis Ray Johnson, 72, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on July 10, 2021 at Medical Center of Arlington. He was born on November 2, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas to Robert Carlton and Oma Lee (Taylor) Johnson.
Curtis grew up in Kennedale and Arlington, Texas. He graduated from Kennedale High School in 1967. After high school he attended the University of Texas at Arlington, where he received a Bachelor's degree. He served for 3 years as a Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. Curtis worked in the construction industry, for most of his career as a lumber salesman. He retired last year.
Curtis married Judy Marie Selman in 1971 in Fort Worth. They had two sons, and were happily married for 22 years, until her death in 1993. He never remarried. Curtis enjoyed gardening, cooking (particularly for large groups of people), spending time with his family, and spoiling his dog. In addition to Judy, Curtis was preceded in death by his parents, R.C. and Oma Lee Johnson.
Curtis is survived by his son Michael Johnson and wife Amy, son Damon Johnson, brother Don Johnson, brother Jimmy Johnson and wife Gale, granddaughter Olivia Johnson, and his nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A gathering in Curtis's memory will be held at Union Worx, 500 E Front St. #160 Arlington, TX 76011, from 5:30-8:00 pm, August 14. Please, no flowers, or anything else needs to be sent. Curtis would only have wanted folks to bring themselves, good memories, and appetites. Anyone wishing to attend, please contact the family.
