Dixie Ann Ross Burd, 83, went to meet the Lord on June 18, 2026. She was born on March 25th, 1943 in Ava Missouri. Her Parents were Maxine and Lyle Ross.

Dixie grew up in Wichita KS and graduated from Southeast High School. This is where she met Terry Burd, the love of her life. They were married in 1964 and had 2 children, Kelly and Jeff. Terry’s job brought them to Texas where they had a wonderful life together. She had many friends and boasted she never met a stranger.

Dixie worked as a homemaker and was always there for her kids. She was their biggest cheerleader. In the 80’s she became a preschool teacher at Fielder Road Church, the children loved Ms. Dixie!

Dixie was preceded in death by her mom, dad, husband and son Jeff. Dixie is survived by her daughter Kelly, son-in-law Mike, daughter-in-law Kempa, grandkids Brandon, Ashley, Porter, Presley, great grandchild Emory and her niece Tami.

I know that if you ever met my mom, you made a friend for life. She was a loving mom, caring Amma, aunt, friend and life of the party. She was always dancing and singing and would often make you laugh. We will surely miss you mom until we see you again in Heaven.
