Dolores Ann "Dee" Henderson, 81, passed away on May 26, 2025, at her home in Dalworthington Gardens, TX. She was born on November 4, 1943, in Wichita Falls, TX, to Joseph E. Brown and Emma Martin.
Dolores grew up in Wichita Falls and graduated from the Academy of Mary Immaculate (AMI) in 1961. After high school, she began working as a receptionist at Industrial Supply, where she met her future husband.
Dolores married Ray in 1961 in Wichita Falls. They were happily married for 64 years. She later worked for many years as an attendance clerk at Bowie High School until her retirement.
Dolores was an active member of both Saint Maria Goretti and Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Churches in Arlington. She was a lifelong member of the St. Maria Goretti Ladies Garden Club and participated in various craft clubs. She even spent a few years in a bowling league alongside her husband, Ray.
Dolores served as the booster club president for Tara’s high school drill team and loved playing Bunco—remaining in the same group for more than 20 years. Her love for dogs inspired her to donate regularly to the ASPCA throughout most of her adult life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers; two sisters; her son, Wade; and her granddaughter, Kendall.
Dolores is survived by her husband, Ray, of Burkburnett, TX; her daughters, Lisa (John) Upshaw of Kennedale, TX, and Tara (Jay) Rhynes of Arlington, TX; her grandchildren, Travis, Holly, Jessica, Toni, and RJ; and her many nieces, nephews, and other beloved relatives.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale-Sublett Road, Kennedale. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3. Burial will follow the service.
