Domingo Herrera Gonzales December 10, 1944 – May 29, 2026
Domingo Herrera Gonzales, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 29, 2026.
Born on December 10, 1944, in Poteet, Texas, to Frank and Eva Gonzales, Domingo lived a life centered on faith, family, music, and the simple joys of being surrounded by those he loved.
On April 26, 1963, he married the love of his life, Hilaria Gonzales. Together they built a family and shared more than sixty-three years of marriage, creating a legacy that continues through their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Domingo worked in metal fabrication throughout his career, but his true passion was music. From his teenage years, he played guitar and sang alongside his brothers and other family & friends, sharing his love of music wherever he went. He was a talented guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose music became the soundtrack of countless family gatherings and celebrations.
Beyond music, Domingo was a devoted family man who cherished spending weekends surrounded by loved ones. He enjoyed backyard barbecues, football games, laughter, storytelling, and creating memories with family and friends. He also had a love for video cameras and could often be found capturing life's everyday moments, preserving precious memories for future generations.
Domingo is survived by his beloved wife, Hilaria Gonzales; his children, Rachel, Rene, Oscar, Martin, and Gloria; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; his sister, Florence, and brother, Bene.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eva Gonzales; his sister, Isabel (Chavella), his brothers, Lorenzo (Chito), and Frank Gonzales.
Though his guitar has been laid to rest, the music he created lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy is not only found in the songs he sang, but in the family, he built, the memories he captured, and the love he shared so freely throughout his life.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
