Obituary

Dorothy Jean Cain, 96, passed away on June 17, 2026, at AVIR of Kennedale Nursing Home in Kennedale, Texas. She was born on April 28, 1930, in Fort Worth, Texas to Theodore and Ruby Christensen.

Dorothy married James Edward Cain, Jr., in February 1946 in Weatherford, Texas at the age of 15. They were happily married for 53 years and lived most of that in Fort Worth, Texas. Together, they built a family business, Cain Nursery, which they ran for 30 years before retiring.

Dorothy loved life, her family, and those around her. She strived to make her home a Godly place for family and friends and regularly filled it beyond capacity to bring people together for holidays.
