Joy “Elane” Collins, age 76, peacefully entered Heaven on April 9, 2026, to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while residing at Town Hall Estates nursing home in Arlington, Texas.
Born in El Paso, Texas, on August 12, 1949, she was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose enthusiasm touched the lives of all who knew her. Elane was a devoted skin care consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics for over 40 years, where she inspired many with her dedication and cheerful spirit. Her enthusiasm was evident, particularly in her joy of supporting and cheering on her grandchildren’s activities, always their number one fan. Dance and art were passions of Elane’s. She graduated from Eastwood High School in El Paso and pursued her love of dance further at University of Texas El Paso. Her creative spirit found expression in dancing, drawing, and the elaborate creation of sets for children’s church.
On August 2, 1980, Elane married the love of her life, Clifford Collins, beginning a devoted marriage of over 45 years. Clifford lovingly adopted Elane’s daughter, Kimberley, and together they later welcomed a second daughter, Tiffany.
Elane is survived by her husband, Clifford Collins; daughters Kimberley Claybrook (Tom) and Tiffany Guzman (David); and her cherished grandchildren Gracie Campbell (Garrett), Marissa Guzman, and Collin Guzman. She is also survived by her siblings Lee Cook (Celenne), Trudy Leopard (Henry “Bubba”), and Ronald Bogart (Teresa); brother-in-law Paul Collins; and sister-in-law Tammy Shelby. Numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends also honor her memory. Elane was preceded in death by the loving grandparents who raised her, J.T. and Joy Miller, and her mother, Velma “Jo” Bogart. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to a very special friend, Lupe Vargas, for the loving and devoted care she provided to Elane.
A memorial service celebrating Elane’s life will be officiated by her brother-in-law, Bubba Leopard, and held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas 76060. Family, friends, and all who knew Elane are invited to gather in remembrance and to celebrate the blessed life she lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
