Eva Martin

Eva Guffey Martin was born May 29, 1928 in Van Buren County, AR to Eli and Missouri Guffey. She passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018.  Eva moved to the Fort Worth area in 1955.  She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Everman since 1965.  Following her retirement from the Everman ISD in 1992, she volunteered at Huguley Hospital for eighteen years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Afton Martin, parents, two sisters, and five brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Rhonda Alleva and husband Ron of Burleson and Judy Sellers and husband Steve of Everman; grandchildren, Chad Alleva and wife Chasity of Morgan Mill and Allison Flores of Mansfield; six great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and several special nieces and nephews.

Funeral service for Ms. Martin will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 10:45A.M. at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale.  Visitation will be Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 9:30A.M. at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.  Interment will be Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 1:00P.M. at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.  “A mother holds her child’s hand for a short while and their hearts forever.”
