Gary Wayne Searcy, born on May 21, 1957, in Nassawadox, Virginia, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on January 27, 2025. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, whose life was filled with laughter, dedication, and love for the outdoors.

Gary’s career spanned many years at Huggins Honda, where he earned numerous awards for his exceptional skills in the automotive industry. A talented individual with a passion for cars, he spent countless hours in his early years building and fine-tuning racing cars, showcasing his remarkable expertise. He did not hesitate to teach others how to enhance their skills working with cars.  He graduated from Mansfield High School, where he started to nurture his talent for working on automobiles.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gary loved adventure and exploration. He learned to scuba dive, embarking on many memorable adventures. In his later years, he purchased a camper, making it a priority to go camping whenever possible, allowing him to indulge his love for the great outdoors. Time spent on the farm brought him immense joy, where he could truly appreciate the beauty of nature and connect with his roots.

A man of routine and a great sense of humor, Gary was deeply dedicated to his family. He treasured every moment spent with them, particularly his children, grandchildren and great-grandchild. He is survived by his daughter Christy Searcy from Fort Worth, Texas; son David Searcy from Fort Worth, Texas; daughter Ashlea Blumenshine from Kennadale, Texas; and son Kevin Searcy from Fort Worth, Texas. He was also a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, with another due to arrive in August. His three sisters, Gwen Boukamp and her husband Doug from Joshua, Texas; Jennifer Smith and her husband Bill from Weatherford, Texas; and Stephanie Townzen and her husband Richard from Millsap, Texas, remain to honor his memory.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Pat Searcy; his brother, Ronnie Searcy; and his nephew, Johnny Metcalf and niece Danielle Davenport, and niece Kaitlyn Smith.  His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

In remembrance of Gary, visitation will be held on February 3, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located at 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale, TX 76060. A funeral service will take place on February 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM, followed by burial at 12:15 PM, concluding with the committal at 12:30 PM at the same location.

Gary Wayne Searcy will be dearly missed, and his impactful presence will be remembered by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
