Glenda Lewis

February 27, 1943 — February 17, 2019

Mansfield

Glenda Lynn Lewis, age 75, originally from Muskogee, Oklahoma, escaped this mortal world on Sunday, February 17, 2019.  She would have been 76 today, her birthday.  She leaves behind 2 dogs, 4 very expensive bras, a plastic bag full of medication bottle caps and enough random medical equipment to start her own Emergency Room.

Mom is survived by her husband Don P. Lewis, married in 1962, who was the love of her life. She is also survived by her son, Donald P. Lewis II (who she gladly accepted praise for), daughter Nikki Lossing (who she was forever grateful for), and her lesser known daughter Tori Ledesma (who bugged her endlessly about any and everything.)

She is also survived by her brother Tom Tillotson and his family; Nikki’s husband, Charlie Lossing, Tori’s husband Gilbert Ledesma; grandchildren Ethan, Katie, Emily Ledesma; Sidney and Cassidy Lossing; Kameron and Don Lewis III; Bennie and Malinda Lewis and their family; Paula and Jackie Webb and their family, Bugsy Lewis and his family; nieces, nephews and numerous loving family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Thelma Tillotson, countless pets, 2 knees, 1 hip, and 1 left elbow.

Glenda was a retired nurse.  A fact she pointed out to others for every fever, scrape, sprain, headache, gastrointestinal disturbance, stroke-like symptoms and any other aliment any person, or persons (including doctors), or pet in need of a medical opinion.

Mom enjoyed many, many things.  Among those were traveling, going to her church, music, swimming, Bed Bath and Beyond, balloons (for some odd reason), slot machines, Turner Classic Movie Channel, Chanel perfume, ice cream, bumble bees, discussing recipes, a short haircut, shopping online and whatever good western movie happened to be on TV.

She also enjoyed having a popsicle on her porch when it was hot…but hated a tough brisket or dried out bread.  She also struggled endlessly between her remote controls and her cell phone when it rang.  If she was able to find it in time to answer.  Mardi Gras was one of her favorite times of year as proof of her extensive bead collection which she proudly shared with her grandchildren every single holiday.  The numerous years of ‘Mardi Gras-themed-Christmas-tree’ décor always made her smile.

She will be missed by all her knew her.

Heartfelt thanks goes out to all her family, friends and medical specialists that helped provide a more peaceful transition into heaven.

And an added quote for Don, “Always faithful under the Lord, our Father.”

Another for Nikki, “All lives end, but the best leave gifts.”

Friends may visit with the family at 11AM on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at the graveside service at Emerald Hills Memorial Park, Kennedale, Texas.
