Obituary

The second oldest of seven was born to the parents of Albert & Charlotte Waterman Pouncy on December 22, 1929, in Frierson, LA.

His childhood was filled with many happy memories, and he received his formal education in Mansfield LA.

He accepted Christ at a early age and was baptized at the Bethel Baptist Church in Desoto, Parish. In 1950 moving his family to Fort Worth, he united with Calumet Baptist Church and then moved his membership to Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. D. Evans. In June 2006, Grant along with 13 members help to organize New Fellowship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Patrick Diggs serving as the Chairman of the Deacon board.

Grant was married to the late Maggie Harris-Pouncy and to this union four boys were born. Later in life Grant met and married Barbara Johnson-Pouncy and to this union one daughter was born.

Grant was employed at Trinity Valley Manufacturing and retired after 30 years of service as a supervisor and worked part time at Mitchell Chevron Gas Station for 20 years.

Grant was well loved by his family and friends. He was well known as an honest and respectable man and never met a stranger. His favorite hobbies were watching sports, (his Commanders), raising hogs, cutting grass, sitting under the carport and being with his family, especially on Friday nights family time.
