Helen Myrtle Geer Gambrell, 92, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017, in Mansfield.
Funeral Service: 1 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2017 in Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment at Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation Noon to service time Monday.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen’s name to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Helen was born to Lewis and Lena Geer in Forest Hill, Tx, in 1924. She held a BA in English from TWU in Denton and a M. Ed in Counseling from UNT. Helen taught English and worked as a secondary school counselor in Dallas and Arlington. On April 29, 1944 in Fort Worth, Tx, she married her husband of 71 years, James A. Gambrell. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Gambrell.
Survived by her sons, Rod Gambrell and wife, Shirley Kate, Dick Gambrell and wife, Kathy; granddaughter, Anna Chambers and husband, Duane; and great-granddaughter, Lily Kate.
