James Lee Lewis (Jim), 87, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 peacefully at home in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on July 8, 1934 in Dallas, Texas to Jack and Lorene Lewis (Brown).
Jim grew up and graduated in Fox, Oklahoma where he was a football player and track star. After high school he began working in the oil fields but ultimately became a manager at different facilities including Coca Cola and Dalton Pickles where he met his beautiful wife, Frances. Jim was a jack of all trades, master of none but he did things his way.
Jim married Frances in 1974 in Fort Worth, Texas. They were happily married for 47 years. After Jim retired in 1990 from Stoval Electric, Jim and Frances started a very successful honey business in 1993. Jim loved the outdoors where he enjoyed the company of his cows and bailing hay for anyone in need. People gravitated to Jim because of his friendly and helpful nature. In most recent years he enjoyed going to Winstar with his family.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, mother, 2 sisters, 1 brother, Sheila, and Greg.
Jim was survived by his wife, Frances; son, Raymond and wife Connie; daughters, Janice and husband Joe, Beth and late husband Loyd, Diane and husband Robert, Kathey and husband Bobby, Tosha and her husband Jason; 8 grandsons; 7 granddaughters; 25 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren and many more loving relatives.
Funeral service for James will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home (500 Kennedale Sublett Road, Kennedale, Texas 76060) at 10:00AM on Monday, June 13, 2022 with interment to follow. The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Sunday, June 12, 2022 from 3:00-5:00PM at Emerald Hills Funearl Home.
