James Byron Young, 92, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Castle Rock Assisted Living in Arlington, TX. He was born on October 16, 1934, in Goshen, Indiana, to James and Edith Lantz Young.

James grew up in Goshen. He married Carleen on June 30, 1956 in Auburn, Indiana, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Carleen; his son, James Young Jr.; and two brothers, Jerry and Steve.

He is survived by his children, Jane Burns and husband Harvey, Chris Ashahrammer, and Joy Johnson; his sisters, Kay, Edna, and Becky; grandchildren, Mona, Jonathan, Brian, Charles, Thomas, Julianne, Robin, and Alice; 10 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on November 6th from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Emerald Hills Memorial Park.
