Jean Gardner Desha, 85, passed peacefully on September 11th after a long illness. Pre-deceased by her loving husband, Gil in 2010 and son, Paul in 2004. Survived by daughter, Deborah Thompson and grandson Joseph Collins, son-in-law Mark Thompson, two step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. Jean was raised in Amarillo and graduated from Baylor University with a degree in music. An accomplished pianist, she also attended North Texas University and received a masters degree in Library Science. She was a longtime librarian at Mansfield High School until her retirement. She and Gil enjoyed overseas travel, making several memorable trips abroad and in the USA. She was an active volunteer at First Methodist Mansfield where a memorial service will be held at 2 PM, September 17th. 951 N. Walnut Creek Drive, Mansfield, Tx 76063. If you wish, donations may be made to the church, or to the charity of your choice.
