Obituary

Jimmy Don English was born August 14, 1943, in Houston, Texas, and peacefully passed from this life on May 7, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Jim was born to Ella Mae Bell and was raised by his loving grandmother, Audrey Rose. Her guidance and care shaped Jimmy as he matured. He was blessed to have their love early in his life and they both preceded him in death.

Jim's life was full of accomplishments, adventures and, above all, love for his family.

He was a highly intelligent and hard-working man, as shown early on when he graduated from school at the top of his class.

He had a successful career as a machinist at King Oil Tools and Jim retired after 20 years of dedicated work.

He later had a second career, working for AT&T in the Dallas area for 22 years.

Jim finally retired in 2021 leaving behind a legacy of dedication, hard work, and generosity.

But beyond his achievements, Jim's joy was found in creating lasting memories with family. He had a great sense of adventure.

Jim and Sharon traveled together to over a dozen countries, Alaska, and through the West Indies on a Windjammer Cruise just ahead of a hurricane. Jim loved Yellowstone National Park and made many memories there with kids and grandkids.

He delighted in capturing life through his camera lens and sharing the beauty of those moments with family and friends. Jim always encouraged his family to take lots of pictures and have them printed.

In addition to photography, Jim loved sailing on his sailboat, sports cars, Jeeps, and spending time at the gun range. These hobbies reflected his patience, precision, sense of adventure, and his deep appreciation for the simple joys that life offers. He shared his enthusiasm for these hobbies with his loved ones.

Jim cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. He sent his children on trips, took them on adventures, and made sure each grandchild knew the joy of being surrounded by love and laughter.

Jim was a member of the St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Keller.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Kaercher English; children Christine English, Benjamin English (wife Dina), Patrick Kaercher (wife Cristy), Chad Kaercher (wife Kimberly); grandchildren Austin Kaercher (wife Melanie), Blake Kaercher (fiancé Alyssa), Alyson Kaercher, Callie Kaercher, Bayley Kaercher, and his great-grandson Kohen Kaercher.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Brunner, and his daughter, Amber English.

Jim will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his quiet strength, sharp wit, generosity, and the enduring love he shared with his family and friends.
