Jose “Joe” Amaro, 84, passed away peacefully on 6th, May 2026 at his home in Fort Worth, TX. He was born on January 11, 1942 in Fort Worth, TX to Felix and Lorenza Amaro.
Joe worked and lived his entire life in Fort Worth TX. He worked for Anadite / Anacast and Albertson Warehouse until he retired in 2004.
Joe married Guadalupe Garcia in 1963 and together they had 4 children, Felicia, David, Susie and Natalie but went their separate ways in 1982.
Joe met and married Judy Rawdon welcoming Mandy into the family with youngest son Rowdy Amaro born in 1983. While these unions ended, Joe remained a devoted friend to his former wives, valuing the years and family they built. His family remained his greatest priority, and he was a pillar of support until his passing.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Lorenza Amaro, brother Eddie Amaro, sisters Mary Amaro, Eliana Amaro, his niece Christina Cuellar and great-nieces Melissa Guthrie, Christina Lambert and great great niece Elizabeth Lopez.
Joe is survived by his former wives Guadalupe Amaro and Judy Rawdon; his children Felicia (David) Ortega, David (Alana) Amaro, Susie Goodwin, Natalie (Rodolfo) Martinez, Mandy (Nathan) Nail and Rowdy Amaro. Sisters Hazel Castillo, Cynthia Garcia and Helen Mireles. His legacy lives on through a large loving family of 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at Emerald Hill Funeral Home 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd. Kennedale TX 76060 on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 10:00 AM. A visitation will be held at the Emerald Hill Funeral home chapel on Monday, May 11, 2026, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Cemetery. Following the service a reception will be held at the VFW Post 8911, 4937 Mansfield Hwy, Fort Worth TX 76119.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Grand Hospice, VFW Post 8911, the Sharp family, Kathryn Wietz, Annette Cerda, Marissa Gonzalez, Emerald Hills Funeral home, all the family and friends that have supported us thru this difficult time with love and prayers.
