John Spradlin

Carel John Dee Spradlin, 94, went to Heaven this past Saturday, March 16, 2019, in Burleson, TX   He had been waiting for this trip for a long time.  His funeral service and interment will be held on Friday, March 22, at 3:00 at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale, TX

John was born on January 29, 1925, in Mt. Vernon, AR to John and Cynthia Baker Spradlin.  He was the last of 11 children.  In 1943, at 18 years old, he was proud to serve his country in the Army Air Corps and flew on C46 and C47 Cargo planes in the Philippines.  After the war, he eventually ended up in Arlington, TX where he retired from General Motors.  He had many years of wonderful retirement with his Beloved, Bobbye, to whom he was married for 54 years and who preceded him in death in March of 2012.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Ware, three grandchildren, Amanda Pitts,  Melanie Duffield and husband, Tom,  Trey Ware and wife, Amanda.  He was blessed with four great- grandchildren:  Taylor Pitts, Rance Pitts, Hallie Nickell, and Reece Pitts.
