Lalita Joyce Shelton

March 10, 1939 — March 15, 2024

Fort Worth

Lalita Joyce Shelton, 85, loving daughter, mother, sister, cousin, aunt, and great aunt, passed away peacefully Friday, March 15, 2024, at her home in Fort Worth, TX.  She was born on March 10th, 1939, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to George and Mary Ruby (Mullins) Hurd. The family moved to Fort Worth, TX where she grew up. Her siblings were adult age, and her brother, Geroge, and his family lived across the street.  So, she was closer in age to his children, Ruby and Randy. They grew up together and were close.

Lalita was a Trimble Tech High School graduate, who after a substantial career, retired from management at Lockheed Martin.  She was an avid sports fan, a foodie, a photography enthusiast, and she loved the beach.  But she found her greatest joy in her children, family, and friends.

Lalita was preceded in death by her parents and siblings.

Survivors: Daughter, Regina; Son, Michael; Son in law, Byron; nieces (4 generations), nephews, extended family, and friends.
