Larry Douglas Jackson's Obituary

ARLINGTON – Larry Douglas Jackson, 83, died on March 27, 2026, after having experienced a tragic fall while on vacation in Queretaro, Mexico. He was born on June 13th, 1942, in Walnut Springs, Texas, the son of Milton Willie Jackson and Shirley Mae (Carr) Jackson.

Larry attended school in Cleburne, Texas where his family had settled early in his youth.

He married Linda N. (Lemons) Cobb on July 5th, 1963, and they had two children together, Melissa Carol and Jeffrey David. While their marriage did not last, they were lifetime friends.

On February 20th, 1981, Larry married his lifetime partner, friend and the love of his life, Delia (Patino) Jackson. With their blended family, consisting of Melissa, Jeff and Damion, they settled in Arlington, Texas where they began their journey. In 1983, Dee and Larry welcomed the birth of their son, Cody Lee Jackson, making them a family of six.

They have celebrated over 45 years of marriage and have had the good fortune of having been able to pursue their love of travel throughout the United States and abroad and most of all Larry’s love of golf.

He began his career in 1968 with General Dynamics (Lockeed - Martin) and after 36 years with them, he retired. After a year of non-stop golfing and pure boredom he went on to work for the American Airlines Recreational Committee as their office and store manager. He finally retired after 16 years with them in 2021.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Linda Claire Muse; his brothers Gary Anthony Jackson and William Lee Jackson. Surviving In addition to his wife, Dee (Patino) Jackson, are his daughter Melissa C. Wilson and her husband, Bubba Wilson, of Houston, TX; sons, Jeffrey David Jackson, of Arlington, TX; Cody Lee Jackson, of Euless, TX; & Damien Patino and his wife, Alica, of White Settlement, TX; seven grandchildren, Morgan Wilson, Marisa Jackson, Brenden Jackson, Ryan Jackson, Jade Jackson, David Patino and Kaitlyn Patino; one brother, Gerry Jackson and his wife, Rosalinda, of Plano, TX, two sisters, Carolyn Sue Hathcock, widowed, Debbie C. Bell and her husband, Robert Bell; Sister-in-Laws, Vicki Jackson, widowed, Rosalinda Mendoza and her husband, George Mendoza and Lydia Dearman, widowed; many, many nieces and nephews.
