Margaret Louise Crane, 82, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Avalon Memory Care in Arlington, Texas. She was born on August 1, 1940 in Mountain Lake Park, Maryland to Luther and Betty (Lewis) Kerns.

Margaret grew up in Oakland, Maryland. She graduated from Southern Garrett High School in Oakland, Maryland in 1957. After high school she:

attended Nursing school in Fort Worth, TX where she received her LVN Nursing License.
began work in several Nursing Homes in Tarrant County, where she enjoyed helping and serving senior adults. She retired after 40 years of serving as a nurse.
was involved in Women’s Ministries, while attending Arlington Heights Assembly of God church from 1966-1993.

Margaret married Alfred Crane Jr. in 1960 in Mansfield, Texas. They were happily married for 62 years. Margaret was a member of Crowley Assembly of God church 2004, before that she was a member of Arlington Heights Assembly of God in Fort Worth. She enjoyed reading books, studying her bible, watching crime solving shows (Chicago, Law and Order), Jimmy Swaggart Ministries, and going to casinos (where she played Keno and slot machines). She also enjoyed spending time with family, her grand kids, great-grand kids, and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Betty Lewis Kerns; brothers, Lawrence Kerns, Billy Kerns, and Richard, Kerns, and sister, Mary Keefer; a child, Paul Ray Crane; daughters-in-law, Kimberly (David) Crane, and Naomi (Alfred) Crane.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Alfred Crane Jr., of Fort Worth, Texas; her children Tambra Allen of Burleson, TX, Alfred Lee Crane III, of Burleson, TX, David (and Donna) Crane, of Gainesville, TX, Rena (and Fred) Hutton, of Crowley, TX, and Daniel Crane, of Texarkana, TX.; her sister, Barbara and Jay) Smith of Salisbury, MD; her grandchildren: Heather (and Jared) Faaborg, Michael and Susie McGowan, Amarisa (and Greg) Fuentes, Wendy (and Mike) Onuuha, Joshua (and Amanda) Norvelle, Nicholas (and Brandi) Crane, Celia (and Major Camerand) Ersch, Jennifer (and Alex ) Starzyk, Elizabeth (and Ryan) Pyle, Kathryn Norvelle, Jeffery Crane, Derrick Crane, and Caleb Allen; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home Chapel, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd. at 10:00 am, February 10th. A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd. from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, February 9th. Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Cemetery.
