Marianne L. Broughton passed away on May 7, 2024 at her home in Arlington, Texas. She was born on February 8, 1944 in Binghamton, New York to Mike and Helen Samulka.
Marianne grew up and graduated from high school in Binghamton. After high school, she attended Cortland State in Cortland, New York where she received a degree in teaching. She taught school for seven years in New York and Indiana and then worked for Galderma in Fort Worth, Texas for 19 years before retiring.
Marianne married the love of her life Robert "Bob" Broughton in 1966 in New York and they were happily married for 57 years. Marianne enjoyed arts and crafts and traveling to Europe. She loved the beach and she and Bob spent many winters in South Padre Island, Texas where they made many friends.
Marianne was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Arlington, Texas and she served as Eucharist Minister.
Marianne was preceded in death by her parents Mike and Helen Samulka.
Marianne is survived by her husband Bob; two brothers, Michael "Mickey" (Kathy) Samulka of New York and Ron (Jina) Samulka of Florida, and many dear friends.
A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd., Kennedale, Texas 76060 from 9:30 - 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. A funeral mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 5819 W. Pleasant Ridge Road, Arlington, Texas 76016 at 11:00 a.m. on May 15, 2024. Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 12:15 p.m. After the burial, a reception will be held at Istanbul Grill, 6204 S. Cooper St. Suite 110, Arlington, Texas.
