Matthew Lyn Hooper, age 50, passed away on Wednesday, November 25th, 2020. He was born on August 17, 1970 in Henderson, Texas to Richard “Wayne” Hooper and Thana Lynn (Williams) Hooper.
Matthew grew up both in San Antonio, Texas and in Mt. Vernon, Texas area. After high school he served in the National Guard and then studied Criminal Justice at NTCC & Graduated Police Academy Class of 1994 and also studied at Texas A&M University-Commerce. He was a 24-year Veteran Law Enforcement Officer. He spent his life as a dedicated police officer, drug task force agent, detective and in most recent years as a Private Licensed Investigator in Fugitive Recovery. He was valued by his peers for his experience and recognized by his brothers and sisters in law enforcement not only for his professionalism but for his friendship, loyalty and laughter. He was faithfully involved in serving in his church home, Life Fellowship Church in Kennedale, Texas and loved his family dearly.
Matt has been joyfully married to Renee Haskins Hooper since they said their vows on October 11, 2014 at Life Fellowship Church.
He was preceded in death by his father Wayne Hooper, mother Thana Williams, and by his older brother, Nathan W. Hooper.
Matthew is survived by his spouse, Renee of Mansfield, Texas; his children, Joey Hooper, Bethany Hooper and Liam Hooper; his sister Julia Hooper Evans of Azle, Texas; his brothers (& families), Joshua ( Patty) West, Jerod ( Lori) West and John Michael Williams of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by his Uncle Paul (Cheryl) Hooper and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale, Texas 76060 at 1:00pm Monday, November 30th, 2020. The service will be livestreamed for those who cannot come.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Life Fellowship Church, PO Box 38, Kennedale, TX 76060 (lifefellowshipchurch.net).

In thinking of Jeremiah 29:11, God told me a long time ago that he had plans for me. I finally found out those plans when God brought Matthew into my life. He completed me and made me feel so loved and safe. Till we see each other again...I love you
