Michael Lynn Joplin, lovingly known as Mike, passed away on December 9, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 77. Born on September 16, 1948, in Brownfield, Texas, Mike lived a life characterized by kindness, hard work, and a deep commitment to his faith.

Mike was a dedicated computer programmer for many years, a career that demonstrated his intelligence and work ethic. Alongside his professional accomplishments, he earned two two-year degrees from Tarrant County Junior College, reflecting his commitment to lifelong learning. He was also a music leader for 40 years, a role that brought him immense pride and fulfillment, especially when he and his wife Ruby were honored with a plaque recognizing his dedication to the choir.

He found joy in many hobbies and interests, including singing, spending time in his garden, and playing games with friends. An avid traveler, Mike cherished the experiences and memories created with loved ones along the journey.

He was a very sweet man who exemplified kindness in all aspects of his life. It was a common sight to see Mike warmly shaking hands with seniors at church, showcasing his caring nature. Known for his honesty and strong faith, he inspired many with his leadership and the genuine love he held for family and friends. Music was also a significant part of his life; Mike was self-taught and could play a variety of instruments, enhancing the lives of those around him with his talents.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ruby Joplin; their son, Steve Joplin, and his wife Christine; grandsons Justin Cormier and his wife Nikki, and Jordan Wheeler and partner Megan Ireland; great-grandchildren Justin Siklosi, Candon Wheeler, and Tara Cormier; his sister Debbie Raines; brother Scott Joplin and his wife Jan; sister-in-law Georgia Taylor and her husband Howard; sister-in-law Shirley Aldrich; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Joplin; mother, Mattie Sue Joplin; brother, James Craig Joplin; and brother-in-law Marvin Raines.

Visitation will be held on December 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, both taking place at Worth Baptist Church located at 4900 Campus Drive, Fort Worth, TX 76119. Burial will follow at Emerald Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park at 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd, Kennedale, TX 76060, with a service beginning at 12:30 PM.

As we remember Mike, let us celebrate the extraordinary life he led, the love he shared, and the indelible impact he left on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
