Obituary

With love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, her family announces the passing of Mina (“Kitty”) Henderson Kane, 89, of Arlington, Texas, who passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Billy Charles Kane, who passed away in 1995. Their enduring love and partnership remained a cherished part of her life until her final days.

Kitty was born in Galveston, Texas, and lived a life filled with creativity, kindness and joy. Our Lord and Savior, her family and music were the heartbeat of her life. She was a gifted singer-songwriter whose original songs reflected her faith, creativity and life experiences. As an accomplished author, she shared her talents through words and melodies that touched the hearts of family, friends, and all who knew her.

She also found great happiness on the tennis court, where her competitive spirit, determination, and love of the game reflected the energy and enthusiasm she brought to every aspect of her life.

Above all, Kitty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose love, wisdom, and encouragement shaped generations. She inspired those around her with her creativity, grace, resilience, and unwavering faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, music, stories, laughter, and treasured memories that will continue to inspire her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her daughter, Kerri Reed and son-in-law Shane of Arlington, Texas; daughter Kerbi Rodda and son-in-law Kim of Corona, California; and son Baron Kane and daughter-in-law Brooke of Granbury, Texas. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kayli Rodda of Corona, California; Kortney Calhoun and husband Josh of Silsbee, Texas; Brittney Kane of Kennedale, Texas; Kody Kane and wife Allisandra of Burleson, Texas; Caleb Reed and wife Christa of Spicewood, Texas; and LB Kane of Arlington, Texas. She is further survived by her great-grandchildren: Kolton Kane, River Spooner, Ford Calhoun, Kamden Kane, Brantley Hendrixson, Hudson Calhoun, Baby Boy Reed (due any day), with a host of other beloved family members and friends.

A funeral service celebrating Kitty’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at PLEASANTVIEW BAPTIST CHURCH in Arlington. She will be laid to rest at Emerald Hills Memorial Park in Kennedale.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Emerald Hills Funeral Home in Kennedale.

Though her voice has been stilled on earth, the songs she wrote, the stories she shared, and the faith she lived will continue to echo in the hearts of those who loved her.
