In Loving Memory of Neide Pierre Louis

With profound love, gratitude, and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Neide Pierre Louis, affectionately known as "Ne." She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, businesswoman, church mother, and the heart of her family. Her life was a testament to faith, sacrifice, courage, resilience, and unconditional love.

Neide Pierre Louis was born on May 25, 1937, in Baie-de-Henne, Haiti, near Port-de-Paix, to Germina Pericles and Volce Pierre Louis. She was raised alongside her two brothers. From a young age, she developed a strong love for hard work and an entrepreneurial spirit. She was known as a calm person who avoided conflict, yet possessed great strength, determination, independence, and an extraordinary ability to care for those she loved.

She attended the National School of Baie-de-Henne and always believed in the importance of education. She worked tirelessly so that her children could have opportunities she never had. She encouraged them to complete their education, pursue higher learning, and build better futures for themselves. Seeing her children succeed was one of her greatest joys and proudest accomplishments.

Neide was a talented baker, cook, seamstress, merchant, and businesswoman. She knew how to turn hard work into opportunity. She was a courageous and tireless woman who never hesitated to do whatever was necessary to care for her family. Whether preparing meals, managing her business, sewing clothing, or caring for her loved ones, she carried out every responsibility with excellence and dedication.

Neide was married to Jerome Metayer, with whom she built a family founded on faith, perseverance, and commitment. Following his passing in 2004, she remained a strong pillar for her children, grandchildren, and entire family.

In January 2003, Neide immigrated to the United States. She embraced her new life with gratitude while continuing to preserve her Haitian values, traditions, and culture.

As a faithful servant of God, Neide was a devoted member of First Haitian Church of God, where she served as a Church Mother, a member of the Ladies Group, a choir participant, and a cook for church activities. Her faith guided her through every stage of her life.

Above all else, Neide loved her family. She was a woman willing to make any sacrifice for those she loved. Whether working tirelessly, sharing what she had, preparing meals, or opening her home to others, she always gave without hesitation. Her home was filled with comfort, discipline, laughter, and love. She believed in hard work, kindness, speaking Creole, and never forgetting where you come from.

Neide was the proud mother of eleven children, five of whom remain to honor her memory:

Jacques Metayer, father of Guichard Metayer, Nevaeh Metayer, Sainte Anna Metayer, and Jerome Metayer.Marc Ellie Metayer, father of Germina Metayer, Lovely Almeida Metayer, Rodini Metayer, Marc Guercon Metayer, Guytenberg Metayer, Jerry Metayer, Strombeg Metayer, and Elison Junior, along with their families.Marie G. Pierre, wife of Johnson Pierre and mother of Faith Pierre and Johnny Pierre, along with their family.Niomie Metayer Cox, wife of Dinos Cox and mother of Diana Metayer, Polymnia Metayer, and Emmanuella Cox.Landy Metayer, widow of Michel Rozand and mother of Benji Pierre.

She is also lovingly remembered by her son by marriage, Sergie Lawrence Pierre, husband of Suze Pierre.

She leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews, including Marie Rose Larosue Fenel, and their family; Kernise and Rose Joseph and their family; Marie A. Joseph; Pierre Joseph and his family; Foncem Joseph and his family; Rose and her family, including Peyton; Mary and her family; Winsley; Rubenshag; and Chris.

She is also lovingly remembered by Anne Delice, her beloved first cousin who was like a sister to her, along with Elise Vernet and her family.

She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives, church family members, friends, neighbors, and loved ones who were blessed by her kindness, generosity, and love.

To her grandchildren, Neide was more than a grandmother. She was a protector, caregiver, teacher, guide, and source of wisdom. She showed her love through the meals she prepared, what she shared with others, the help she offered when needed, and by ensuring that no one around her lacked anything. She taught the importance of hard work, generosity, respect, and compassion.

Those who knew Neide will always remember her resilience, business skills, generosity, honesty, and unwavering commitment to her family. She valued faith, family, hard work, and helping others. She believed that no one should go hungry and encouraged everyone to share what they had.

Neide Pierre Louis was the heart of her family. Her door was always open, her table always had room for one more, and her love was reflected in her actions, sacrifices, and service to others. Her greatest achievement was not material wealth, but the lives she touched and the family she raised.

Her strength lives on in her children. Her values live on in her grandchildren. Her memory will live on forever.

A life of faith. A life of sacrifice. A life of resilience. A life of love.

Her legacy lives on in all of us.
