Nelda Jane Loftin

Nelda Jane Loftin, aged 90, left this world to meet the Lord on June 21, 2023, in Burleson, TX. She was born on March 9, 1933, in Winnsboro, TX. Nelda was the daughter of Thomas Benton Kennemer and Margaret Albina Westmorland.

Nelda was preceded in death by three husbands: Lee Arnold Ingram, Robert L. Helton, and Jimmy J. Loftin.  She leaves three sons, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and one sister.  She loved all her grandchildren dearly and lit up any time they were present.

Nelda was known as “The Avon Lady” in the community for many years which provided her with many friends. She was a long-time member of Worth Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, Texas and taught Sunday School for young children about 25 years.  She loved young children from all walks of life and shared her love with them through her ministry.

Nelda was also known to be a bit “bird brained” as she absolutely loved birds, especially the red Cardinal.  She often sat at her kitchen table window with a set of binoculars watching the birds in her yard which was equipped with numerous bird feeders, bird houses and bird baths.  She had an extensive collection of bird decorations.  Nelda was born and grew up in the Great Depression.  As a result, she was a thrifty, enterprising individual who understood the value of things and conserving resources.

Friends and family are invited to attend Nelda's funeral service at Worth Baptist Church located at 4900 Campus Dr in Fort Worth, TX on June 30th at 10:00 AM Central Time. The burial will follow at Tye Oak Grove Cemetery at 13199 Oak Grove Rd S in Burleson, TX.

We will always remember Nelda for her unwavering faith in the Lord, kindness to children and love of birds.  May she rest in peace.
