Oralia Gonzales, lovingly known as Lala, Grandma Lala, and Tia Lala, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, surrounded by the love she spent a lifetime giving to others. She was born on June 27, 1942, and grew up in Pleasanton, Texas, where she later graduated. In 1974, Oralia and her family made Fort Worth, Texas, their home, where she continued to build a life rooted in faith, family, and community.
Oralia shared 64 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Juan Gonzales. They were married on October 28, 1961, beginning a partnership grounded in love, commitment, and family.
She was a proud and loving mother to three children: Carlos Gonzales (wife Melissa Gonzales), Suzanne Teague, and Sarah Gonzales. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Jessica Lerma (husband, Joe Lerma), Monica Robinson (husband, David Robinson), Ricky Gonzales, Dustin Gonzales, Felicia Soto, Cappa Soto, and Marc Gonzales (fiancé, Vanessa Gallegos).
She was blessed with great-grandchildren: Emma Cervantes, Lucia Soto, David Lerma, Joseph Infante, Juliana Lerma, Nia Gonzales, Luka Gonzales, Mariah Robinson, David Robinson, Isabella Robinson, and Elijah Robinson.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who cherished her as Tia Lala.
Oralia was preceded in death by her parents, Fidencio Sr. and Concepcion Arguijo; her siblings, Paul Arguijo Sr., Frank Arguijo, Juanita Mendoza, Trinidad Arguijo, Eusevia Trevino, Fidencio Arguijo Jr., Eloy Arguijo, Eloisa Garcia, and Vivian Arguijo; and her son-in-law, David Teague.
Oralia found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was a devoted fan of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys, loved spending time with her family, and took great pride in cooking for those she loved—especially making tamales with her sisters. She enjoyed tending to her plants, hosting Friday night game nights, and sharing laughter and fellowship at church ladies’ luncheons. Her warmth, generosity, and unconditional love will live on through every life she touched.
