Orvline "Louise" Burson

June 13, 1930 — November 16, 2023

Arlington

Orvline “Louise” Burson, 93, passed away on November 16, 2023 at her daughter’s house. She took her last breath with Sandy and Hannah by her side. She was born in Greenville, TX on June 13, 1930 to Orvil and Lillie Avary. She moved to Amarillo, TX at the age of 3 with her mother after her father passed away. She attended La Airosa High School, where she started her first job as a carhop. She then moved to Denver, Colorado where she graduated from West High School. She attended Amarillo college and West Texas State College. She loved to model and did that throughout her 20's.

Louise moved to Dallas for a new job at Southwestern Bell where she worked over 30 years as a business manager. You could always find her shopping on her lunch hour at Neiman Marcus in downtown Dallas, dressed to impress. You never saw her without high heels, pink nail polish and lip stick. She met and married her husband and had two twin daughters, Cindy and Sandy. She also gained two step children, Ricky and Pamela. She adored all of her children that she had prayed for her whole life. She attended First Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, where she taught Sunday school and loved serving the Lord.

Louise loved the Dallas Cowboys and watching Texas play at the Cotton Bowl. She loved gardening and roses. She enjoyed playing poker at the Summit and Elks Club in Grand Prairie with her friends. She also loved playing skip-bo with her granddaughters. In her younger years she met Elvis Presley, had dinner with him, and he kissed her. She carried the Olympic torch, and was involved heavily in city council. She was a “people pleaser”, loved to tell jokes, was a very positive person, and everyone that met her loved her.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Orvil and Lillie Avary; daughter, Cynthia Kuehne; step daughter, Pamela Long; and step son, Ricky Burson.

She is survived by daughter, Sandra and husband Jesse Mathison; beloved grandchildren,
Heather and husband Sam Moore, Hannah Mathison, Myranda Kuehne, Jacey and husband Dakota Fisher, Robert and wife Kelley Long, Clint and wife Shayna Long, Brittany, Kristin and husband Jimmy Morales, Tiffany and husband Matt Conrad; great- grandchildren, Hudson, Aubrie, Ivy, Jasper, Howard, Jordan, Courtney, Emma, Eiden, Jackson, and Alina.
