Obituary

Phillip Dwight Simons, aged 75, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on January 30, 2026, after a brave struggle with illness. Phillip was not only a cherished companion, but was also known for his steadfast love, protective nature, and being a life partner to those close to him.

Born on March 10, 1950, Phillip lived a life filled with passion and dedication. He had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life, particularly enjoying fishing, savoring a Keystone beer, and cooking delicious meals that brought friends and family together. His friendships at the VFW were especially important to him, fostering bonds that enriched his life.

A man of few words, Phillip was inherently private and rarely voiced complaints regarding his health. He exemplified a strong sense of patriotism, demonstrating love for his country throughout his life. As a testament to his commitment, he was a lifetime member of VFW Post 8911 Auxiliary, reflecting his deep involvement in community service.

Phillip’s career began in law enforcement where he served as a police officer in his early days, before transitioning to become a skilled plumber by trade. His work ethic and dedication to his profession were greatly respected.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Faye Guilliams; father, Everett Arthur Simons; brothers, David Shackleford and Ronnie Simons; beloved little brother, Johny Simons; and sister, Carol Wooldridge. Each of these loved ones left a profound impact on Phillip's life, shaping the man he became.

Phillip is survived by his life partner, Betty Jones; son, Phillip Dwight Simons Jr., and his wife, Aurora; daughter, Kathy Deanne, and her husband, Gary Boss. His legacy continues through his sisters, Linda Sue Lemons and Kay Ellison, and is carried forward by his grandchildren: Alison Boss, Zachariah, Christopher, Raiden, Jonah, Charlise-Marie, Sara, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

As we remember Phillip Dwight Simons, we honor a life well-lived—a life marked by love, loyalty, and unwavering dedication to family and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
