Richard Cline Jolley

December 15, 1935 — November 17, 2025

Richard Cline Jolley, more commonly known as Jolley Pop, 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at his house in Arlington, Texas. He was born on December 15, 1935, in Hutchinson, Kansas to Richard Dell and Haddie Zaddie (Emerson) Jolley

Although he was born in Kansas, Richard’s family were Texans at heart, and they soon moved back home. Richard grew up throughout Texas, primarily in East Texas. He graduated from Rock Springs High School. After school he worked in the oil fields of Texas, and New Mexico. Richard was a “derrick man” a position he took immense pride in and would not hesitate to tell you. After marrying and having a family, Richard left the oil fields and went to work for the United States Postal Service. There he served his community with the Postal Service in different capacities. He greatly enjoyed his time as rural letter carrier in Bedford, Virginia. Bedford, a rural mountain town in the Blue Ridge Mountains often challenged the postal service credo of “Neither snow nor rain nor heat… earning Richard the endearing nick name of that Crazy Texan. His last assignment for many years was as a window clerk at the main Post Office in Arlington, Texas. Richard retired from the Postal Service in 1996 after a 36-year career. Richard was a devout Christian and served as an Elder in his church.

Richard married Virginia Arlene Caldwell in 1956. They were happily married for only a brief time before Virginia passed away suddenly. Richard married Bonnie Fay Williams in November 1960, a union that lasted 55 years.

Richard is survived by his children Angela Puthoff of San Angelo, Texas, Linda Randazzo and husband Joe of Aiken, South Carolina, Stuart Jolley and wife Vivilia of Clayton, North Carolina, Bruce Jolley and wife Eleanor of Lewisville, Texas and Randell Jolley and wife Kathy of Arlington, Texas. His surviving grandchildren are Vincent Puthoff and wife Rachael of Arlington, Texas, Jennifer Sears and husband Scotty of Louisville, Kentucky, Jackson Skipper, of Louisville Kentucky, Jesse Nichols and wife Jessica, of Bedford, Virginia, Richard Jolley and wife Andrea, of Bedford, Virginia, Olivia Jolley, of Dallas, Texas, Lyndsay Jolley and Toby Rumans, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Garrett Jolley and wife Callie, of Dallas Texas and Jorden Jolley and husband Reed Hogan, of New York, New York. Great grandchildren are Summer and Caleb Puthoff, Haleigh, Kendall and Caden Simmonds, Dawson Skipper, Brycen and James Jolley and Grant and Collette Jolley.
