FORT WORTH -- Robert Carol Bucklin, 88, went home Saturday, May 5, 2007.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday, Emerald Hills Memorial Chapel. Burial: Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials: American Cancer Society, 3301 W. Freeway, Fort Worth 76017.
Robert was born Dec. 25, 1918, in Belvidere, Ill.
He was a decorated World War II veteran. He was on Normandy Beach on D-Day. He received a Bronze Star and the Croix de Guerre for his contribution to the war effort.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, collecting coins and spending time with his family.
Survivors: Wife of 66 years, Agnes Bucklin; sons and wives, Robert and Kim Bucklin Jr., David and Bridgette Bucklin; grandchildren, Chris and Chad Mills, Courtney, Erika, Brandon and Hayley Bucklin; sister, Barbara J. Bucklin; and a host of other family members and friends.
