Roy Doyle Ratliff

Roy Doyle Ratliff, 78, of Rendon, Texas, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on June 8, 2026 at his home. Roy was born on December 6, 1947, in Stephenville, Texas, to Walter Marvin Ratliff and Tama Nora Rhoades Ratliff. He was the youngest of four children and was especially treasured by his parents, who were both 40 years old when he was born.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Faynelle Parkinson; his brother, David Ratliff; and his son, Bryan Ratliff.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane Ratliff; his daughters, Julie Ratliff and Shelley Ratliff; his grandson, Dylan Ratliff and his brother, Delbert Ratliff and sister-in-law Kay Ratliff, both of Stephenville; and numerous extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

Roy followed in his father's footsteps, spending much of his career as a truck driver and crane operator. He loved the open road and often joked that he was "part gypsy." Traveling was one of his greatest joys, and he was always ready for the next adventure.

Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969. He spent 14 months in Vietnam with the 4th Infantry Division Artillery. His military service left him with profound hearing loss, but it never diminished his determination, strength, or love of life.

A memorial service will be held at Life Fellowship Church, 611 N Little School Road, Kennedale, TX 76060 at 10:00 a.m. June 12, 2026. A visitation will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublet Rd, Kennedale, TX 76060 at 6-8 p.m. June 11, 2026. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at the visitation. Burial will follow the memorial service at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.
